TechNews: New EPDM Warranty Options
Did you know that Versico Roofing Systems has three new warranty options available based on EPDM’s long-term performance and track record?
Ballasted EPDM System Warranty Updates – Over the years we’ve routinely seen examples of ballasted EPDM systems that have gone well beyond their original warranty life span, with many lasting 35-40 years. Based on this proven performance, ballasted systems with 60-mil non-reinforced EPDM will be eligible for 30-year warranties when using 30-year details. Ballasted systems with 45-mil non-reinforced EPDM will be eligible for 25-year warranties when using 25-year details. There is a new QC requirement for 30year ballasted jobs where pictures must be provided showing the proper use of primer on RTS details. Test cuts can be taken in lieu of providing pictures.
25-year EPDM System Warranty Updates – For 25-year warranties with 60-mil VersiGard® White or Black non-reinforced EPDM, we implemented the changes listed below:
3” QA Seam Tape and a single 6” QA T-Joint Cover is acceptable for seams.
A single layer of 6” QA Cured Cover Strip or 6” QA Overlayment Strip is acceptable for stripping in metal edging.
40-year EPDM Material Warranty Updates – Based on our accelerated weathering tests along with 36 years of experience, we are adding the 40-year non-prorated material warranty as an option for VersiGard White non-reinforced 90-mil EPDM. The 40-year non-prorated material warranty available on VersiGard White and Black 90-mil nonreinforced EPDM is consistent with EPDM’s long-term performance as a foundation for a sustainable and resilient roof system design.
Versico’s specifications and details have been updated to reflect these changes.
